This is a group meant to support Christians, or their loved ones, who suffer mental disorders ranging from, say, depression through bipolar to schizophrenia bearing in mind that any disorder can, at times, be equally disabilitating and cries out for some support especially by or from those who have been or are going through the same dark valley. That is, people who "have been there, done that," as opposed to hearing advice from people, no matter how deeply trained, have never suffered the direct hand of depression that can, at worst, lead to suicide. As a group of Christians, we see our role to simply pray for the person in intercession with Jesus as Paul said when he advised Christians to comfort one another.

Naturally, we encourage talk and exchange of ideas and experiences outside that of mental disorders with the usual mindfulness of not offending with intent nor showing too much offence if one has been genuinely misunderstood. This, of course, can best be achieved via good thought before replying and obeying the usual written and unwritten rules of what might be termed loosely as netetiquette.

Keep in mind that those of us who are suffering from a disorder such as Bipolar may be in a downswing when we might be tempted to write something we may regret later. No one can stop another from writing in such a way, but those of us who are not in a valley should try to understand and help. I can testify that the people already on here have been that way toward me which is an attitude of forgiveness and patience that Jesus asked us to display.

Attachments may be sent, but please refrain from using any *.EXE (executable or application) ones since they may carry a virus. Also keep the size of pictures down as much as possible. If, say, you have a .BMP picture, it should be converted to the compressed *.JPG or *.GIF type. Or, if you have a large *.JPG, then see if you can downsize that also. IrfanView32 is a good, free viewer that can do that task. It is available free from"Tucows". The idea being that although some may have Broadband fast modems others may still be using the slower wire modems which takes a long time to download a file of around 100kbs.

I will not step in on things unless I have to. We will go 'by ear' at first and see how things flow. Any gremlins can be tackled as they appear so that we can be as free as we can because frankness without guile is how Jesus was. So, we will formulate rules on this particular site as we 'go along'.
